What you need
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Java, TypeScript, Go, Python, C#, or a comparable language
- Experience designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining APIs, services, distributed systems, or modern software applications
- Experience working with databases and applying software design, architecture, testing, and development best practices
- Proven ability to provide technical leadership, evaluate tradeoffs, and influence the direction of complex, cross-functional initiatives

- Experience designing and maintaining microservices or distributed systems
- Experience with cloud platforms, containerization, and orchestration technologies, particularly AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes
- Experience with technologies commonly used within SageSure’s software environment, including Java, Spring Boot, and Temporal
- Experience using AI-enabled development tools or agentic coding assistants, such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot
- Experience in property and casualty insurance, Insurtech, Fintech, or another regulated industry
