About this role
As a Mechanisms Design Engineer, you will be part of a team focused on developing various mechanisms for launch vehicles, including stage separation and fairing separation mechanisms, as well as hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical actuators. Your role involves designing vehicle mechanisms through all phases, defining requirements, conducting trade studies, and collaborating with other teams on static structures and propulsion. You will also be responsible for creating and reviewing design documentation and optimizing designs for manufacturing and performance.

What you need
- Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 2+ years of experience in a product full cycle design engineering role
- Experience with CAD (Siemens NX preferred)
- Experience with manufacturing processes, project management, scheduling/planning, materials and surface treatments
- Good understanding and experience of ISO GPS or ASME GD&T tolerancing principles
- Good understanding of kinematic synthesis, pneumatic/hydraulic and electro-mechanical actuation, mechatronics, instrumentation, structures strength, stability, fatigue failure modes and tribology
Nice to have
- Previous experience with kinematic synthesis, pneumatic/hydraulic and electro-mechanical actuation, mechatronics, instrumentation, structures strength, stability, fatigue failure modes and tribology
- Experience in structure and fluid systems for launch vehicle design or equivalent aerospace product
- Experience with design and sizing engineering tools such as NX, TeamCenter, Solidworks, Ansys, Altair HyperWorks solutions, Nastran
- Experience with ERP/MES Systems, product lifecycle management (PLM) and/or data management
- Willing to travel to the launch site and suppliers when necessary for hardware support
