About this role
As an Inpatient Medical Coder at Datavant, you will be responsible for assigning diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to documentation standards. You will oversee and audit the work of junior coders, champion documentation improvement, and maintain high coding accuracy rates while communicating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders. This fully remote position offers a flexible schedule, allowing you to work from your own workspace.

What you need
- A minimum of 3 years of recent inpatient coding facility experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Nice to have
- CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred
- Associate or Bachelor's degree from an AHIMA-certified HIM or Nursing Program, or completion of a certificate program from AHIMA/AAPC
- Minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding experience at a Level I Trauma Center, preferably within an academic medical facility
- Experience with significant level of coding quality review feedback
- Experience in computerized encoding and abstracting software
